Acne is a real problem that can not be underestimated in any way. Acne is characterized by pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, reddishness and cysts on the skin. Face acne is the worst as it can really spoil your appearance and ruin your self confidence and your day. That is why it is so important to take care of your skin when you have acne.

Acne skin care should really start much before the acne actually appears. ‘Acne skin care’ is more about being proactive than reactive. Acne skin care is about being aware of preventive measures. Acne skin care is – following daily skin care routines with complete discipline. So let’s have a look at how ‘acne skin care’ can be applied to our daily routine

Taking care of your skin when you have acne begins with being clean. Just basic morning showers are just the start to keeping your skin clean. Some with a severe case of acne actually take multiple showers throughout the day. This helps with keeping the skin clean but also relaxation as you feel better when you go to bed as you are more relaxed because of the shower. For some that is all they need to do to keep their acne problem under control.

Taking care of your acne however is sometimes more then just taking multiple showers. For instance if you wear dirty clothes or sleep in dirty sheets then your skin problems will persist. Some advocates of acne skin care recommend cleaning your make up brush or other bathing and grooming tools often as this will affect how your skin looks.

It is recommended that you keep a mild, water soluble, oil free and soap free cleanser for taking care of your acne problem. Cleansing is perhaps one of the most basic and best ways to prevent the breakout of acne. Use a cleaner to remove your make up before you go to bed as this will also help keep your acne under control.

If acne is already present then try not to pop them or in other ways try to remove them. Forcibly removing your acne can actually cause you to create scars on your face or other severe skin blemishes. Be gentle around that region and apply what ever cream or medication that your dermatologist has recommended using a non abrasive pad or other applicator in order to take care of your skin.

The first tip to healthy skin is to know your skin type. This is the beginning of the battle as this will determine your course of action from this point forward. You can really customize your skin care regimen by knowing what skin type you have.

The second tip is to drink plenty of water. Everyone is made up mostly of water and since your skin is the largest organ you have then it makes sense to drink plenty of water to keep it healthy.

The third tip is to clean your skin regularly which means at least one to two times a day. The best method is to use lukewarm water as hot or cold water can actually damage the skin. If you have a product you use to help maintain the moisture in your skin then use this every time you clean your skin.

The fourth tip is to be gentle with your skin. After all this is your skin on your face and you do not want to rub excessively or too harshly as this can actually damage the your face.

The fifth tip is to keep your skin moist at all times. With some climates this may seem difficult but it is necessary in order for your skin not be aged prematurely. You can really tell if someone has been out in a dry climate for most of their lives as they will look far older then they appear.

The sixth tip is to avoid using soap on your face. Soap actually will pull moisture away from the skin. If you have to use soap then moisturize immediately afterwards as this will help you from damaging your skin in the long run.

The seventh tip is to use sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays. For those sun bathers out there you are really damaging your skin in the long run and will look far older then those that took care of themselves by avoiding the damaging rays of the sun .
